Letter From Our CEO
On behalf of all of us at MidWest Materials, thank you for visiting our
website. It is our intention that this website provides insight into our company and supports your decision to work with our family owned and operated steel service center.
I am extremely proud of our long history, success and growth at MidWest. We built our reputation as a reliable and relationship focused steel service center, and I am honored to be the third generation leader of our family company that was co-founded by my grandfather, Joseph Koppelman, 65 years ago. I am pleased to say that I work with some of the finest people in our industry each and every day. Many have worked here for over 25 years and have built valuable relationships with our customers, suppliers and each other.
MidWest offers 240,000 square feet of climate-controlled warehouse and manufacturing space, a new stretch leveling system, corrective levelers, cut-to-length lines, slitters, shears, a testing lab, a fleet of trucks, and the ability to load and unload rail cars.
As we commemorate MidWest Materials’ 65th anniversary, we are excited to celebrate the completion
of our recent multi-year, multi-million dollar capital improvement project. This investment has touched every facet of our business: property, facilities, purchasing, sales, receiving, shipping, warehousing, manufacturing, transportation and technology. Specifically, some of the newest highlights include energy efficient lighting, additions to our truck fleet, and a state-of-the-art stretch leveling system.
The new leveling system, the largest and most advanced Leveltek Stretch Leveler in North America, enables MidWest Materials to provide flat, unmarked, memory-free steel up to 5/8” thick and up to 100” wide and allow us to meet the increasing quality demands of customers moving to precision and high efficiency manufacturing methods.
The results of these improvements continue to make MidWest Materials a leading supplier of steel
while maintaining the highest levels of quality, service, efficiency, technology, safety and reliability.
We believe our dedication to new technology and continuous improvement will allow not only us, but also our customers and American manufacturing to remain competitive world-wide, helping us all to retain
and create new jobs.
For 65 years, our commitment to fiscal responsibility and our dedication to our customers, suppliers and employees have contributed to our dependability, success and growth. We anticipate this to continue for many years to come and appreciate the opportunity to continue meeting your needs.
Thank you again for your interest in MidWest Materials.
